LSCA Delegation to Council
On Jan. 28, 2013 the Lambton Shores Community Association presented the Municipality of Lambton Shores Council with a delegation, detailing a number of concerns and issues from their membership.
If you go to the Lambton Shores website (www.lambtonshores.ca) and click on "Living in Lambton Shores", then "Council E-genda", then on the date, "January 28", you will find our Delegation at # 6.4 on the agenda. If you scroll down past the end of the agenda you will find our presentation (two letters and several exhibits (photos) on pages 25 to 55.
Also, you can see and hear the presentation and the Councilors' responses by watching the video of the Council meeting on West Shore Media at www.westshoremedia.ca.
Click on the January 28th Council meeting clip. You can make it full screen. You will see that there are 11 videos. They tape in ten minutes intervals. At the bottom of the screen there is a "play list". When you click on this all of the video clips will show along the bottom. Our presentation is the fifth and sixth videos.

LSCA Annual General Meeting
The Lambton Shores Community Association invites you to our Annual General Meeting. All interested parties are welcome.
Date: July 7th, 2012
Place : Grand Bend Legion
Time: 10 - 12 noon.
On the Agenda are updates from the past few months, including progress or not with the Short Term Rental Accommodation Committee, clarification on sewer issues, President's Report, action plans and a Q and A session with Council members.
New members are welcome and are asked to pay a one time fee of $100.00.

Below please find the material presented on Jan. 14, 2012 by the Short Term Rental Accommodation Committee. It has some background and material that came to light in their efforts to find information about the issue. It is important to note that the Licensing idea is fraught with problems for both Council and residents and has been identified by the Committee as the least preferred option.
The Committee explained the by-law changes they were exploring will provide for documentation of problems and an escalation of fines, (like the pink slip process for firings) to enable the municipality to take offenders to Section 477.1 of the Municipal Act. This requires the will to go there as well as the evidence. As well, Plan 24 has been chosen as a testing ground to develop a process for resolving the issue of problem landlords for the wider Lambton Shores community. It was apparent that Plan 24 is not the only area with problem rentals.
The meeting was well attended with approximately 80 people present in addition to those from the municipality identified in the presentation. We encourage you all to make sure you filled out a detailed form or send in more ideas to the committee. The LSCA has also sent in an official reply which is also attached.
After the meeting there was a smaller discussion with Plan 24 residents and some landlords.

Lambton Shores Community Association ratifies its Constitution
June 4th, 2011during its first annual meeting, the Lambton Shores Community Association ratified its governance with a constitution that sets out terms, election time lines and conditions for the community corporation. The complete constitution is available below.

Annual Meeting June 4th!
The Lambton Shores Community Association would like to announce our first Annual Meeting! This meeting will take place Sat. June 4th , 10 am at the Grand Bend Legion.
LSCA needs to elect or re-elect 3 members for the Executive. Pat Henry and Pam Smereka are eligible for re-election for a 2 year term . We also need nominations for one more director's seat on the board. This is a new position and names or nominations are welcome. The 6 member executive will elect the representatives for the executive positions at their first meeting after the Annual Meeting.
We would also appreciate a group of three or four volunteers who can assist with memberships or sign up at this meeting. All assistance is appreciated.
We have prepared a constitution for the Corporation and will have updates of our activity for the spring. As well, Council will have representation there to bring us up to date on the sewer issues.
